UK: Axe hangs over The Observer

Guardian News and Media was on Sunday considering options for the future of the UK’s Observer, the world’s oldest Sunday newspaper, that could see the 218-year-old title close in its current form.GNM has started work on a three-year strategic plan, including radical measures aimed at assuring the future of The Guardian, the group’s daily newspaper, a senior figure in the group said.
